Inspirational Visit

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Philadelphia to visit my dear friend and amazing artist, Megan Halsey. Since we only see each other a couple of times a year, at Surtex and Atlanta, it was so great to spend some real time together. We started with an incredibly inspiring day at Terrain, which is the garden store by Anthropologie. I don't think I've ever been in such a fantastic, inspiring place.

We headed out to coast, or as they say back east, the shore....Cape May, NJ.
The last time I was there was in August '80, just before I moved to Seattle from Pennsylvania.
It was rainy and cool, which was perfect for photo taking.

On the pine tree lined path out to the ocean, there were so many monarch butterflies,
on their journey south. It was estimated that there were about a million at Cape May.

A great way to end the trip....the very first Anthro! Thank you Megan for such a wonderful time :)

Surtex, number 8

Wow! Another year come and gone. After months of preparation, a year of new work, 3 wonderful days exhibiting, I'm back in my studio ready to begin so much new work. Many thanks to my wonderful licensing partners for your continued interest in my work and allowing me to do what I love! I'm so excited to begin work on all of the new products. And of course, a HUGE part of the show is getting to see my dear artist friends and spend time at the show and wandering the streets of NYC. See you all again same time, next year!

a Mother's garden

For Mother's Day, my daughter Jenna, sister Teresa and niece Olivia treated my mom to a wonderful afternoon at the gorgeous Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island. I've lived on the Kitsap Peninsula for over 20 years and have never been there. It was an absolutely perfect 75 degree day and...well...I'll just let my photos speak for themselves.....

tiptoeing....

Yesterday, I visited my dear friend and amazing artist, Sharyn Sowell and we toured the tulips fields in the Skagit Valley near her home. The sun wasn't quite shining, but that only made for better photos. Everything around here is late this year, so the daffodil fields were still in bloom, an extra treat. We've have so much rain this spring, we literally had to tiptoe our way through the paths to avoid sinking into the mud puddles. Hope you enjoy this incredible display of nature......the colors are absolutely stunning!
