feathered friends

I have so many fascinating little birds in my yard these days....bright yellow goldfinches, red housefinches, chickadees, nuthatches, and grosbeaks!  About a month ago, I planted my annual wave petunia baskets for my front porch and a few days later found a scattering of dirt on the railing....a bird nest in my basket!  the momma flies away every time I water, but I haven't climbed up to see what was there until just now.....I was so excited to find a nest full of babies poking there little beaks at me.  Of course, I ran to get my camera.  Hope you enjoy looking!

to New York and back again....

Another year of the Surtex show has come and gone in a flash.  Seems like just yesterday I was packing up all of my booth stuff to ship off to New York.  This year's show was great...meeting with so many wonderful clients, catching up with dear friends, being part of the New York energy.

setting up with my friend and agent, Alicia Dauber....that fabric is a mile long!

in search of the perfect flowers for my booth....one of my most favorite things to do in NYC!

Opening Night Party at Battery Gardens next to the Staten Island Ferry...GORGEOUS sunset!

I had a few hours on my last day and decided to stroll through Central Park....it was sooo beautiful.
this looks like a painting, don't you think?

there were little birds chirping everywhere and turtles sunning themselves on a rock

just a few hours later, heavenly skies over Washington. another year come and gone....

off to New York!

It's Surtex time again!  I will be in New York in a few days setting up for the show and meeting with friends I haven't seen since last year. Everything is packed and on it's way (hope I haven't forgotten anything!).  This year my friend Sharyn has organized a wonderful lunch so that we can all take a break from setting up and visit with each other.  Thank you Sharyn!  I'm looking forward to meeting with so many clients that I work with throughout the year, and showing everything I've been working on for the past year.  If you're at the show, please stop by and say hi....I'll be in Booth 616, Hall 3a.
